Wahoo Elemnt Bolt Initial Thoughts

I got the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt today. This review will just be the initial thoughts about the biking computer and a few pictures from the unboxing.

The  Elemnt Bolt was well packaged. The box, on the right side had a magnet closure. Once the left side of the packaging was open there was a tab that was pulled to slide out the box containing the Bolt and all other accessories that came with it. Everything was packaged very well.

The Bolt itself had protective tape on it. Once that was removed and powered on the brightness and clarity of the screen is amazing. I am assuming from other reviews that this will be a very good display in direct sunlight.

When paired with the phone (process not shown) the companion app, downloaded from the Play Store (Android in my case) asked to sync and provided a scanner app to scan the QR code that was present after initial boot of the Bolt. Once synced, the software notified me that the Bolt needed to be updated.

Once updated the only other thing I had to do was to pair it with my Garmin VivoSmart 3 which has a heart rate monitor. Pairing was super easy. Load up the app on your phone and put the VivoSmart in heart rate broadcast mode and once the app found it, it synced it over to the Bolt. Only have to do this one and it will always be paired.

Once I start using the Bolt I will get an other review up here.
